I am currently a 26-year-old social work graduate student at UT looking for summer daytime (morning) hours with toddlers within 5 miles of Hyde Park.
My ideal hours would be Monday - Thursday, 8 - noon. I am comfortable cleaning, cooking, potty training and driving.
I have had over 11 years of experience working with children and adolescents, 6 month - 18 years old. Some of these experiences include working at an art camp, an orphanage in India, an after-school center, a public school classroom, a bereavement center for children, a middle school, a head start preschool and an overnight camp for emotionally disturbed children. In addition to my hands-on experience, I have a Bachelor's in Art and a minor in Psychology. I am trained in First Aid, behavior management, and de-escalation.
In 2011, I lived in D.C. where I was serving at an after-school and summer program for elementary children of immigrant and low-income families, as well as leading workshops and programs within the mostly immigrant community.
In 2012, I lived in Atlanta where I taught anti-bullying curriculum to elementary students in a title-one elementary school.
In 2012 - 2013, I was an intern for an organization in Austin providing one-on-one counseling, group intervention, and violence prevention to troubled middle schoolers.
I am punctual, creative and energetic. I love arts and crafts, music, games, reading, and outdoor play. I do not turn on the TV!
I have safe and reliable transportation and have no problem driving children to nearby attractions: park, zoo, aquarium, play, library, wherever!
I will also be looking for occasional weekend date nights.
