I am interested in the position. My schedule has recently opened up due to the fact that my department was dissolved. I have been working full time as a graphic designer for 10 years. I have been studying to get my bachelors in Psychology and this transition actually gives me the opportunity to pursue my career goals.

My resume includes design and art related information. It does however include information on a project I have been involved in for years. This is what was once called Christmas in Mongolia. A small non profit group that shipped Christmas packages via private funds to children in orphanages in Mongolia. Now the project has partnered with a international organization.

This project increased its size dramatically in the past two years but last year I was able to travel to Mongolia and visit and work in some of the orphanages and street children on a volunteer basis. The were many children with disabilities and I had the opportunity work with them and their caretakers. The most rewarding time in my life. I am only telling you this because I would like you to get a feel for the reason why someone with my resume that has very little to do with this position would attempt to apply for this position. My goal is to work with children and adult and aid them in the challenges and changes in life. I can provide references upon request.
