My experience caring for children started during my high school career, babysitting for local families in my community. During that time, I would babysit for families that needed me for a few hours. During the summer, I also watched two children for 8-9 hours a day, three times a week. Some of my responsibilities included making snacks/meals, taking kids to the pool/playground, driving the kids to different activities, and keeping them entertained. Also, during this time I was a counselor for a few summers at a soccer camp for children ages 5-14. After high school, I took a gap year and was an Au Pair for a family in Italy. I took care of two boys who were 6 and 12. I did everything from getting them ready for school, driving them to school and sports activities, making meals, light housework, teaching them English and playing many games with them.
