This is the first summer in years that I haven't been surrounded by children. My grandmother ran a day care through the state out of her personal home and I helped her with that until I was about 14 years old. I was a lifeguard for 3 years and took responsibility in watching over children daily. Being a lifeguard entitled me to watching over the safety of kids, communicating with them, solving disputes, contacting parents and ensuring that the children I was responsible for were put in proper custody when leaving the pool area. I have worked with children ranging in ages 3 months to 15 years old. I am extremely patient and don't believe in physical discipline.
