I have cared for children ever since I could take after my sisters and be just like them. I started when I was in 7th grade with a close family friend from our church. I loved bringing games and toys over, and I loved to bring my nail kit to paint the girls' fingers and toes (no matter how many alternating colors they chose!). As time went on, I gained a strong circle of about 8 families that I babysat for, whether it was a Friday night while the parents were at work, or if Mom was simply running errands all day and needed someone responsible to make lunch, keep the house tidy, and play with the kids! My favorite part about babysitting is forming a relationship with the family. I think it's important for the family to know their babysitter because an emotional connection is vital to a positive attitude, trust, and security.
