Hello, my name is Emily. I am currently a graduate student at MSU. I graduated in May 2010 with a degree in special education/elementary education I am currently completing my student teaching internship in the Utica school district.

I am deeply passionate about the care of children. Since the age of 13, I have been baby-sitting for neighbors, family, and members of my church. I also worked at a summer camp called Girls Empowered, working with girls (and boys) ages 3 to 14 in the summer of 2007.

In my experience at the teaching program at MSU, I have been involved in many classrooms. I've worked with both special needs and general education from ages 3 to 18, either for my classes or for my volunteer work. Through MSU, I also have volunteered in a program, where I go to a local elementary school and help to run a two-hour after school program. I have also worked in the Fall of 2009 in a program called Read to Succeed, a before school tutoring program in East Lansing, MI.

I am first aid and CRP certified.

I live in the Detroit Metro area, and am available most days after four to meet in person for an interview.
