I lead children between the ages of four and 11 to daily, after-school activities held by the school district. I learned the rules and regulations of specific activities that the kids would become engaged in that day and taught them to the children. I assisted teachers and instructors with the passing out of materials and would help/do the explanation of activity, testing students, leading discussions and lessons. I created games, stories and curriculum to keep the children's attention. I disciplined children according to statewide regulations, instituted rules of respect and caring for one another, as well as, founding values and honest morals with each child.
I love working with children. I've been a teacher's assistant for kindergarten and first grade classes (2006 - 2008). I worked with children in the YMCA for 3 school years (ages 4 - 11), working mostly with 4 - 9 year olds and did a YMCA summer camp (with 8-year-olds). I was also a nanny this past summer for 3 children, a 12-year-old girl, 9-year-old boy and 6-year-old boy. Along with my "professional" experience I have been a babysitter for 10 years. I love arts and crafts with kids, doing things outside with them, helping them develop skills that help them understand the world around them. I love to hear their questions too and I always try to answer them as best I can! I truly believe that a child's work is their play-it's so great to see them grow and reach their full potential.
