For the past four years I've worked with the Neighborhood Schools Program in Chicago. My first year I was a teacher's aide in a first grade class room, supervising the children during lessons and tests, and helping them with assignments and activities throughout their day. My second through fourth years I worked at the Hyde Park Neighborhood Club, an after school program, mainly with K-3 graders, but occasionally with 4-6 graders, tutoring them individual and in groups with their homework and supervising and interacting with them during their scheduled activities. I have also been working most summers and college breaks at a daycare in Whitmore Lake as a substitute childcare provider, working with children ages infant-10. My duties included feeding, changing, aiding in nap time, playing, helping with art projects, and general supervision and interaction, as well as cleaning the facilities.
