In addition to approximately eight years of weekly babysitting jobs, I have spent two summers nannying full-time for families with two children each. During the first of these two summers I cared for a 3-year-old and a 5-year-old. A typical day included transporting the younger sister to and from preschool, meeting the older sister at her bus stop, supervising the girls in the community pool, lunchtime, arts and crafts, trips to the local library and town playground, bike rides, and other outdoor activities. During my second summer of nannying I cared for a 2-year-old girl and a 3-month-old baby boy. This experience was valuable particularly because I experienced first-hand the developmental changes a child goes through from 3 months through 6 months. I truly enjoy the simplicity and optimism with which children view the world and I find myself feeding off their positive attitudes. Because I myself am still young (I am 23 years old) I have the physical and mental energy needed to provide a stimulating and fun environment for children. I have an unassuming personality which makes it easy for children to feel at ease with me immediately, and I am dependable and trustworthy.
