Caring for children is my passion. This is why I have seven years of nanny experience; it's what I love most in all the world. I've worked with all sorts of families, from four siblings to 5-year-old twins to a German-speaking preschooler. I've provided summer care and continued care into the school year, developing long-lasting and fulfilling relationships with families.

In the summer, I keep children entertained and active (and, whenever possible, educational) ways, whether that means taking lakeside hikes, playing freeze tag, or making home movies. In the fall, I provide transportation, help with homework, and a listening ear for little ones' troubles.

My childcare philosophy is that children first and foremost need compassion, understanding, and respect--along with a healthy dose of time outdoors! Growing up is hard; I seek to provide children with a safe, nurturing, and creative environment in which they can thrive. I am a writer, musician, and artist, so I am drawn to the innate creativity in each child. I love discovering (and providing for) the needs of every individual, whether that means gluten-free baked goods or lots of story time.

I am moving to Grand Rapids in early May and am looking for part-time work for the summer. I would love to become part of your family.
