I have had a passion for working with children since I was barely past being a child myself! I have been babysitting on and off since I was 13 years old. More recently, during my education at Bryn Mawr College in Philadelphia, I was a part time nanny for a family of four. While assisting this family, I assisted the parents with their 4-year-old daughter for several months. Upon the arrival of their newborn daughter, I began to watch her as well. My duties while working with this family, as well as several of their neighbors on a more part-time basis, consisted of entertaining the children while the parents did housework, cooking dinner for the children, changing, bathing and playing with both the newborn and her older sister. We would frequently explore the neighborhood parks and go on play dates with their friends. I also assisted on several short family trips, and stayed overnight with the children occasionally when their parents were out of town for work. I grew incredibly close with this family, as well as others around Bryn Mawr, PA and I have missed working with young children as I am currently working as a Sophomore school counselor/part time teacher back in Chicago.
