Hello. My name is Elizabeth. I have been working with children professionally for over 10 years. I have 3 kids of my own. I have a job in the mornings, during the school year, that I got through Care.com!
I have worked as a nanny, in a preschool and kindergarten setting and, most recently at a daycare for 2 years, where I headed up the infant room.
Not wanting to put my 17-month-old son back in daycare, I am looking to take care of a child while taking care of my son, now 2. I am open to many options, working in someone else's home, or caring for a child in mine. I live within walking distance of two parks, plus I know of all the parks in the area.
I am extremely energetic and love to be outdoors. I enjoy doing crafts, painting and drawing. I also strongly believe that reading is very important in learning and so is singing and dancing. I love taking my son to the library and to find different classes locally, at the Y, and exploring other parts of our town.
I have experience in teaching art, gym, science, math and reading. I have led music class and directed school shows from kindergarten through high school. I teach Musical Theatre at Point Park University on Saturdays. I have run an infant room 2 years where the ratio is 1 adult to 4 babies. I always had my room under control and am a loving, nurturing care-giver. I always treat the kids I take care of as my own. And I have always established a good relationship with all my parents.
I love my current job, which is during the mornings, mostly before school or on days off, during the school year. I care for a 7 yr old girl and we are practically family by now!
I am very outgoing and easy to get along with. I also have a great relationship with my kids who are 17, 11 and 2. They are wonderful kids.
We became parents of our little one through the foster care system. We got him when he was 3 days old and we were fortunate enough to adopt him when he was 11 months old. Plus I have taken infant/child CPR. We are required to go through re-certification every year, so we are constantly updating ourselves on new techniques being used for kids.
I am so happy I went back to being a nanny. I love getting to know a child so well that they feel like family.
