I'm most passionate about cooking, learning new things (reading, listening to educational pod casts, etc.), and caring for children. While infants are my favorite age group to care for, I have experience with children of many ages. In high school I spent time babysitting for my neighbor's children who were 11 years-old, 6 years-old, and an infant. I was responsible for feeding them, playing with them, changing the baby, and usually putting them to bed. Additionally, in high school I spent time volunteering at an inner city elementary school reading and coloring with the children, playing games with them, and helping them with their class work. In college I spent two and a half years working at the Strategic Alternative Learning Techniques Center, tutoring students with learning disabilities. I also spent the last semester of college and the six months following my graduation as a part-time nanny for the son of a single father. I cared for him from the time he was a newborn until he was 1-year-old. I fed, changed, comforted, read to, and played with him. When I was working for them I was also responsible for grocery shopping, cooking meals, and light household cleaning.
