Growing up the third of four kids in the Washington Metropolitan area, my life was composed of copious amounts of hand-me-downs, dogs, frog-catching, and flashlight tag. Having such proximity to a major city allowed me to experience the hustle, bustle and competitive nature that flourished. This sat well with my own inner-ambition, and after four years at Tulane University, I craved the clashing cultures of New York City. There, I developed and honed my marketing/promotional skills before finally settling in LA. I'm happy to live in a town where the sun shines (almost) every day!

I began working for LAUSD eight years ago as a substitute teacher, and there received somewhat of a calling. I began to notice somewhat of an affinity I had with special needs children (primarily autistic), and was handpicked by the principal at Salvin Special Education Center to open a pre-school autistic class of my own. Children with autism are often confused and frustrated at their communication obstacles, and I have been able to reach a plethora of them through listening and responding to their emotions, thus facilitating their needs and educational growth. They have been part of my experience, and part of my heart, ever since.

From lifeguard/swim instructor to full-time nanny (I not only worked my way through college as a nanny, but continued for several years afterward as well), I have been in the midst of children my entire life. They are not only a passion for me, but quite exceptional little beings to be around as well.
