I started babysitting for a family when I was 12 years old and continued to care for their two children until I was 18. They had a boy and a girl. I still keep in close contact with them and have enjoyed being a mentor and friend to not only the children, but the parents also.
I also have a special needs sister. She is 24 but has the abilities of about a 6-year-old. She is so fun to be around and I enjoy taking care of her. My sister teaches me new things everyday and I really enjoy the small things in life because of her. I also worked with autistic and specials needs children all last summer during their speech therapy sessions. They were all so beautiful and fun. They require a lot of care but I loved doing it.
