I was a nanny for 3 children of the same family for almost 8 years. I loved those kids and still do, I enjoyed my job immensely. When I started, their ages were between 1 to 6- years-old.

I also taught at a church for 1-1/2 years with children ages 3 to 15-years-old while their moms were in classes.

As a nanny, I was periodically left in charge while the parents left town for a week or so at a time.

My job included everything at various times and as the situation demanded. I would get the children ready for school, pack lunches, drive them to school and pick them up, help them with homework, played games - inside and outside, taught life lessons and character development, talked about issues of interest to the child, assisted in bathing age appropriate, fixed healthy lunches and dinners, cleaned up in the kitchen, straightened up the house and was versatile to the needs at hand.

I believe I have a healthy balance between being in charge of the children and getting their respect and cooperation and showing them how valuable and loved they are.

I also believe in engaging with the children as much as possible through things that interest the children in particular and prefer not to use the TV or video games as a tool of entertainment.

I especially enjoy teaching children how to eat healthy and make it fun, playing all kinds of games and taking advantage of everyday situations to teach life lessons. I enjoy watching children learn and grow in confidence and love.
