I am a certified teacher and currently work as a one to one aid for special needs in the Livingston Public School District. I worked as a babysitter on and off since my teenage years. I took care of a young boy and girl for over a year during high school, helping them with homework, preparing light meals, playing games and drawing, playing outside, and getting them ready for bed. I found this job very rewarding and found it to have influenced my decision in becoming a teacher. I received an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education. During this time, I worked as a caretaker for an elderly woman and realized that my warm and nurturing personality with children also served me well in working with seniors. I worked at a child care center for two years during college, which was my favorite position to date. I also took care of two toddler girls in my town for a summer and was able to put the knowledge learned in my classes to use. I am very artistic and musical and was able to entertain the girls as well as engage them in various art activities. Eventually, I received a Bachelor's Degree in Special Education, Elementary Education, and Language Arts. I have a lot experience working with children with autism and worked in an ABA school for a while. I dealt with behavioral issues, OCD, ADHD, and ADD. I have a calm and friendly personality.
