I am the mother of two adult children, a daughter age 25 and a son age 23 (and one 4-year-old granddaughter). I am preschool teacher certified. I taught 3-6-year-old's in a Private Christian Preschool setting with no more than 15 students at any one time for 8 years. I also took care of up to 10 children in a Stay and Play after school program at the same facility. I incorporated a music program in the Kindergarten classroom, which included children learning about and creating various instruments and directed a music program for parents at the end of the unit. I worked at a privately owned specialty toy store in Westford, MA for 8 years, helping parents choose age appropriate toys with educational value for their children. This position also required me to work with Occupational and Physical Therapists who helped me to learn various appropriate learning aids for children with special needs. I also have gained experience with various age groups, volunteering as a camp counselor for children in middle school and vacation bible school for approximately 5 years with preschool through elementary aged children. I held a position as Junior Church leader and assistant in a Junior youth group for 3 years. Presently, I nanny 2 families with children ranging from 2 months - 8 years in age. My philosophy and beliefs are that children are a gift and learn best through loving positive reinforcement and play.
I also have a certification in Adult/Child/Infant CPR, AED and First Aid in accordance with American Heart Association guidelines.
