Hi!
My name is Dubravka and I'm from Serbia. I'm 23 years old.
I love children and I enjoy working with them. I can say for myself that I'm responsible, reliable, patient, tolerant and careful. I have experience in working with children. I worked for two families in Serbia where I'm from. Since I got to America I'm working for one family from Annapolis. I still work for them. They are amazing people and they have 2 children, a boy 5 years old and a girl 2 years old. I love to spend time with them and be with them. I learned with them (letters, numbers, objects, shapes, colors, animals, reading books, puzzles...) going to the park, physical activity (sports, playing ball, biking, swimming and much more...) preparing lunch, dinner, bathing...
I paint with them, trying to develop their creative side. We have colored rocks and branches.
I was working with them on social skills, teaching children how to accept defeat, how to "fix" and come back into play. The preschool period is teaching children decency with controlling impulsive behavior. Children can be given very important advice, when to say thank you and why; how to join the group with other kids; have confidence and a sense of morality to refuse to join a group that teases the other person verbally or even stand up for the weaker in society; learn how to ask something, how to ask nicely.
They are going in school and they are not going to need me anymore. That's why now I'm looking for a new full time job.
Also, I can tell you more about my last experiences as a nanny in Serbia. In the first family I took care of one child, a boy 1 months old. I was a nanny in that family for one year. My obligations were: cleaning, laundry, feeding, preparing food, going for a walk, bathing, playing games. It is important to react to the baby's crying, because it is always a signal that it needs something: either she's hungry or thirsty, or it should be changed, or fear. Reaction full of loving and kindness, in fact, is the best thing that we can do when a baby cries. A warm response, full of understanding, soothes a baby's brain during the months when it is most intensively developing a child's personality and way how it will react to the environment.
Carrying a child in your hands or using a soft baby carrier, brings the following benefits: babies sleep better, cry less, they are peaceful, ease their pain (reduced spasms), because of up position and constant motion they are faster learners and improve their motor development.
In the second family I took care of two children. I had two girls, 3 and 5 years-old. I stayed with that family for one year and two months. I played with them, prepared food, learned, letters, numbers, objects, animals, colors read stories before bed time. But most important for me is that a nanny also should be somebody who's going to teach children how to: behave, learn manners, how to be polite, educate them.
I'm still working for two families occasionally. In one I am taking care of two boys, five and 7 years old. The second family has three boys, a baby three months old, three and 5 years old. And I really enjoy spending time with them.
I'm looking forward to talking with any family. I appreciate that you had time to look at my profile.
Thank you!
