I am a mother of 2 girls, ages 24 and 25. I am a registered nurse certified in infant/child/adult CPR and ACLS. 7 years ago a family at my church wanted part-time day care for their 3-month-old premie boy, and I agreed to do that. I had him in my home from 9 a.m. until 6 p.m., 3 days a week, for 9 months until the family moved to Chicago.

After that I started watching a little girl who was almost 5 months old, also premature, and who had cancer in her eyes, so was undergoing chemotherapy, cryotherapy, and eventually sustained the loss of her left eye. The mother was a 20-year-old friend of one of my daughters. I watched her 2 to 3 days a week from then until she was almost 2 years old.
I also have experience with twins, watching twin boys 1-2 days a week since they were 2 months old to the present, and they are now almost 5. They have a 2-year-old sister, and I watch all 3 of them now once or twice a month.
I would like to start over again with another infant to watch in my home 1 to 2 days a week. I only get my schedule one month at a time, so the family would have to be somewhat flexible. I would charge $10 an hour cash, and would provide diapers, formula, food, etc. I have all of the up to date equipment to care for an infant in my home, and mostly just have a real love for infants. I would like to watch the baby anytime between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
