Dorian has been the nanny for our two sons, one 6 months old and one 4 years old, since November. We are now moving to California, and it's my pleasure to recommend her for future positions. She is, to put it simply, EXCELLENT. The boys love her and respect her. She manages their lives perfectly. She drives the four-year-old to school, picks him up, plans activities and play dates, brings him art supplies, prepares him lunch and dinner, and treats him like he should be treated. She's with the baby all day long, and has worked diligently to keep him on a solid sleep schedule, prepare baby food from scratch, and make sure he is cared for and loved all day long. On top of all these wonderful qualities, Dorian from day one has helped us with managing the home, doing laundry, shopping for groceries, and preparing food for the whole family. She's on the ball, and that's important.
Here are a few things I'd highlight:
LOVE: She exudes love and shows our sons tremendous love and respect. They love her back!
DISCIPLINE: She knows the rules and enforces them. The 4-year-old can't pull his usual stunts, she won't allow it, and she creates all the right boundaries. It's very important for us and she took to that right away.
CREATIVITY: She knows how to find activities that are right for them (even the baby). She comes to work every week with new ideas. Last week, she helped our son create a lemonade stand, they made the juice from scratch, baked cookies, and made more than $30!
PUNCTUALITY: All working parents know how important this is. Dorian has 100% on time record, often arriving early.
SAFETY: We trust Dorian to drive our kids across the city, to school, play dates, and doctors appointments. She ensures safety at home, at the park, and everywhere.
INTUITIVENESS: Dorian KNOWS our kids. She's not just watching them, she's anticipating them and providing what they need when they need it.
SUPPORT: As I said above, Dorian goes the extra mile every time she can to support the family and home, buying groceries, cooking food, doing laundry, and helping clean. It's a pleasure to have her in our home.
