I personally grew up as a single child until my mom re-married, so I never had to babysit any younger siblings. I instead grew up babysitting my small cousins, starting when they were about 4 months old. Many years ago I took a class to become a certified babysitter, and learned many different techniques. I know CPR and how to react in tricky situations. I am a Certified Nursing Assistant and have cared for the elderly in many situations. I care for approximately ten residents a night. This includes feeding, washing and putting to bed. I also am responsible for their safety, and making sure they feel comfortable at all times. I am seeking a job with children, as I am going to school to become a Registered Nurse, and I'd like to have more knowledge with both children and the elderly. I know that caring for adults is different than caring for children, but I have worked with many fully dependent elderly adults, so it's similar in many ways.
