Diana worked for my family for 2 weeks. While I found her to be honest, pleasant, and cheerful, I wasn't all too sure she was really interested in being a nanny, or just looking for a job. Diana worked for my family for 2 weeks. While I found her to be honest, pleasant, and cheerful, I wasn't all too sure she was really interested in being a nanny, or just looking for a job. But, she was the most likable of the women I interviewed, and I needed someone right away--she was available. After less than 2 weeks, I got my answer. She received a job offer as a medical assistant, and just about immediately stop working for me, leaving me to try to find someone right away to replace her.
MORE:
She was never in a hurry to leave each day, and prepared meals, cleaned--which was VERY helpful! she is not lazy at all, and was always dressed very well--professional, and not in a t-shirt and jeans like nannies tend to dress (I prefer someone who cares enough about her appearance to dress up a bit, so this was a plus in my book!). She cared primarily for my infant, who was 3 months old. While her novice experience showed in some respects, she was very attentive, quick at responses, and always willing to help in any way. She was late a few times, and sent last minute notes about her tardiness; but she did make up for it by getting right to work and, again, staying as long as needed.
I was quite disappointed that she couldn't stay, and as you can tell from my review, bothered by the haste in her taking another role. However, she did have special circumstances that may have been reason for this--AND she was very honest and communicative about her need for full time employment. While I found her to act as someone who hasn't had many jobs--not knowing proper protocol, like not expecting to converse via text with the boss--she is an overall good person. To someone who is looking to hire her, I just caution you to be clear with your contract on duration and how employment leave should be handled. Aside from that, you'll get a hard worker who loves God, is pleasant with kids, dresses professionally, and is likable.
