Growing up I helped out as often as I could in the care of my younger brother and younger cousins which inspired my calling to work with children as an adult. In 2010 I worked at Tiny Tots Preschool where I demonstrated discipline, leadership, and enthusiasm necessary to work with children. I also learned to interact effectively with preschool children in ways that promoted their cognitive, linguistic, social, and emotional development. As an undergraduate at Rutgers University I took a special interest in developmental psychology and worked as a Supplementary Instructor. I held bi-weekly review sessions for her Infant and Child Development course in which I would interact with students to relay my knowledge of developmental psychology and answer any questions they had about the course content. At the a Psychology Child Study Center I assessed young children's developmental status using the results of standardized assessment materials. I developed an understanding of the developmental characteristics of young children from 2 to 5 years utilizing clinical and objective observation. I also have been babysitting a 4 yr old part time since January 2012.
