During high school and throughout college I have worked with preschool aged children as a classroom aide in a daycare and church nursery . During this time I began babysitting for many of the families of the daycare and church. After I graduated from the University of Montevallo with a degree in collaborative elementary education I began working for the Jefferson County school system. I taught first grade for three years with the school system. Due to funding issues within the system my contract was not renewed for a fourth year. This past year I filled a temporary nanny position for a family with three children. The children were four months, 3 years and 5 years old. I picked the older children up from school, helped complete homework, washed laundry for children and prepared dinner as needed. I also tutor elementary aged children.
