I am a college graduate from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. I graduated with a degree in Liberal Studies and an emphasis in child development. My major was specifically designed for teaching children in grades K-6, where I also did a concentration in child development and early adolescent psychology. I aspire to be a teacher because I strongly believe that teachers are some of the greatest leaders there are and can have one of the biggest impacts on children's lives. They have the power to motivate, to inspire, to teach, and ultimately to change lives. As a future teacher, I hope to lead children places they did not know existed, to build them back up when society tears them down, to catapult them higher than I myself will ever reach, and to push them gently, but assuredly, into the unknown. I have babysat since I was 12 years old and have worked with children ever since. I worked in childcare for about 2 years in high school and taught English to kindergartners in Korea for a summer. Throughout my college career I have had many hours of experience with children of all ages in elementary school.
