I never had children of my own and this has given me a passion for childcare as I always believed that I was born to be a natural mother. I love to sing, play, and read stories to infants and young children. My name is Debbie and I have a lot of experience. I have done a lot of babysitting as I am the oldest of five and I have babysat other families during my teens and 20's. I became a family day care provider for 5 years when I was once married and owned a home in NY. After an amicable divorce, I was a nanny for a family for 8 years, also in NY. I have done other childcare work including caring for 2yr. old twins, infant twins, before & after school child care and overnight childcare. I worked in a Dr's office as a medical assistant for 4 yrs. after receiving a certificate from a 9mo. school. I traveled for 2 yrs. across country and up here to Alaska. I have had the great opportunity to attend college for Early Childhood Development/Education. I now have an Associate Degree. I have done volunteer work at a preschool before attending college. I have done a lot of field work for class assignments in preschools throughout the Anchorage area. I have successfully completed 2 internships at preschools. I was hired as a substitute and have worked in the infant, 1, 2, 3 & 4 year. old classrooms. I have cared for 2 families at the same time (part time. who both had infant twins.). I also have experience with 2, 3, 4, & 5 year old children. I have decided that I do not want to teach preschool but prefer the one on one care and interaction with young children and infants. I love responding & interacting with young children as I believe this to be the very most important aspect of child care. Young children need to know that I am listening and responding to their needs & desires. I have worked for many great families. I believe in parents and I working together to provide the most quality care for their most precious possessions. I keep parents very well informed.
