I began watching my neighborhood children at the age of 13. My neighbor came by my house, stated she needed a baby sitter, and as I was home schooled and so available 24/7, I was hired immediately. I loved it. And I hated it. I cried tears of laughter and tears of "Oh-my-god-why-do-people-have-children!". I was 13 and my charges were 3 weeks (yes, 3 weeks), 2 and 6. How they survived I will never know, but somehow we all made it through the burnt spaghetti, the pee on the carpet, the bottle in one hand and toddler in the other, and I loved every minute that scared me half to death. I loved to play make believe for hours, loved talking to little disoriented munchkins who had no idea what I was saying but would smile just to hear my voice. I've come a long way with kids and I just enjoy them.
