I have been lucky enough to have one niece and nephew that live here in Utah, whom I have provided much care for. My niece is now 4 and I have been the designated babysitter, sometimes weeks at a time, since she was an infant. My nephew is now 2 and he lived at my home for about six months. There I got a real feel of caring for a child every day and the responsibilities that come along with it. The major experience opportunity I had was last year when I was a 6-year-old autistic instructor. I worked with him daily, one-on-one and at school. I learned so much from him and even the other kids at preschool. I love children and being around them. I know how important these first years of their lives are. I am prepared to help them with whatever needed. I have also been a nanny for 3 wonderful children this last year, ages ranging from 5, 7, and 9.
