“ I am 22 years old and going to be graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Health and Biology in May 2012. Growing with children has been my privilege and desire since I was young. I have cared for my two younger brothers, ages 18 and 14 now, and have been a Summer sports camp counselor for my High School teaching kids all types of physically demanding activities such as swimming, soccer, football, track, etc....

I am 22 years old and going to be graduating with my Bachelor's Degree in Health and Biology in May 2012. Growing with children has been my privilege and desire since I was young. I have cared for my two younger brothers, ages 18 and 14 now, and have been a Summer sports camp counselor for my High School teaching kids all types of physically demanding activities such as swimming, soccer, football, track, etc. I believe an active lifestyle for children leads them to be the healthiest. Along with doing outdoor activities, especially when babysitting for families, I also stress interacting with children in household activities as well. This includes cooking projects, arts and crafts sessions, and daily hygiene regimens. It has been my belief in caring for other family's children as well as my two younger siblings, one of which I still work with everyday, that I be an inspiration and role model for these young minds. Through my education, I have learned about the various developmental stages of children as well as behavior management and program development to ensure each child is learning and acting to their full potential. I rarely will reference myself as a babysitter or nanny due to children finding this title to be intimidating. I have the children I take care of refer to myself as Mr. David. In this manner, children are likely to acknowledge myself as a teacher. By doing this, children subconsciously group the title into being a type of teacher just like the ones they feel open and comfortable around in school settings. It has always been my passion to work with children and watch them develop through time. Highlighting the goals of the Parents/Guardians and implementing them into the learning strategies and daily activities, allows for children to create an indefinite bond and discipline with their elders, even when they are not able to be around at all times.
