Over the past 4 years, I have taken care of two families for an extended period of time. The first family had 3 children: two boys and one girl. Not only did I make them dinner, but gave them baths and put them to bed on several occasions. The second family that I worked with had a young boy and a young girl. The boy has social problems because of his increased intelligence and his parents were unsure of whether he had Autism. This provided me with valuable experiences pertaining to dealing with a child who needed a strict schedule and special accommodation. I learned the value of being both patient and accepting. I am now a junior Psychology major at Saint Anselm College. One day I am striving to earn my PHD in order to become a child therapist.
