Danica started watching our son when he was three months old, and since then has been adopted as a part of our family. The way she interacted with my son, made going back to work so much easier for me, sending text/picture updates throughout the day, always showing up on time and rarely ever called in sick (even though the little stink has gotten her sick plenty of times!) My son is now 18 months old, and unfortunately we are relocating out of state because of the Army. If I could take Danica with us, I would. She is a loving, knowledagle, safe, reliable and a overall fantastic nanny. She takes my son to the zoo, the park, to gymboree, reads to him, sings to him...such an involved caregiver! Her background in child development also came as a HUGE help to us as new parents who had no idea what we were doing. She helped is with sleep training and potty training (the start of it, at least...no success yet). She is extremly knowledgeable (but also not a "know-it-all"). Reading the one star review is appalling to me. I hope readers take that review as a grain of salt, because I personally am glad that Danica makes her work decisions on what feels like a "good fit." I certainly wouldn't feel comfortbale having someone watch my kid when they didn't feel a special connection. And I am more than thankful that she was a good fit for us! Finding the perfect nanny really is a two way street, and I am so glad that we found her....but so so sad that we are leaving. Danica, thank you for being such a fantastic person! Hopefully when we come back from out of state, you can watch my children again.

Troubling Behavior I rarely write negative reviews as I do not enjoy doing so. But in this case, I think it is necessary to warn other families about the troubling experience we had with Danica. I would suggest caution in interviewing Danica and even more so in extending her an offer. Danica interviewed with us and we thought she was a very good candidate. We checked her references and they came back extremely positive. After coming by for a 2nd interview, we decided to give her a job offer and she accepted. We even went so far as to schedule some initial dates. Then things started to become very strange. Radio silence from Danica for 8 days. We even e-mailed her in the interim to give her the schedule for the rest of the month. And then we receive a cryptic message from Danica stating "I do not believe I would be a good fit for your family" and that she had changed her mind. Not even a phone call. Just an e-mail sent from her smartphone. As one can imagine, this left us in a very difficult position as we had cancelled all our other interviews and told other candidates that we had hired someone. We were annoyed so pressed Danica for a reason. The response was equally surprising ... not a hint of sorry but some interesting highlights from a rather confusing and unsatisfying response: - She disagreed that she owed us any explanation - She was very upset that we didn't pay her for the 1 hour of time for the follow-up interview Fortunately, we were able to find someone else on short notice. We probably dodged a bullet. I would suggest being very cautious in approaching Danica. Best of luck to you in finding a caregiver for your family. - Derek C

Danica is a caring, responsible, and nurturing caregiver. My family has the privilege of having Danica nanny our two young children ages 1 and 3. Danica began helping me with my children upon the birth of my second child. She has strong child development skills including keen observations of the children's needs and behavioral cues, appropriate limit setting for my toddler, and she has a very cheerful and happy disposition/personality. Danica knows how to connect deeply with a child at their own level. My children absolutely adore her and my husband and I feel blessed that she is a trustworthy caregiver who keeps our children safe and content.
