I have been a Nanny for over 20 years. Many of my families have had twins, which is a truly fabulous challenge and one that I love. I find it very gratifying to work in tandem with parents in creating an environment where children can flourish, and besides, it's fun! I have taken care of children as young as 2 weeks old through to kindergarten. I enjoy accompanying my charges to the library for story-time to play-dates, to the mall for pictures, to the neighborhood park, even if needed, to the doctors office. I prefer the freedom that being a private nanny gives the children and myself over working in a day care situation. I feel it enables me to be more flexible and spontaneous regarding the activities for a particular day. And since I primarily care for the preschool set, I feel this gives children the chance to grow and thrive in a safe environment. I believe that since there will be so much "schedule" in their lives later; school, dance, sports, etc. that the early years should be more open and flexible. I believe that this allows them to have the freedom to to just have fun and enjoy being kids!
