Crystal L. - Denver Nanny

Profile of Crystal L.

Full-Time, 8 Years of Experience

I have received my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Teacher Education from the University of Delaware this past spring. I am not looking for a teaching job right now, because I have always enjoyed working so closely with a family and providing home child care. What I like about babysitting/nannying, is that I can have more opportunity for communication with the parents, and I am able to give the children attention, as they deserve.

I am very passionate about education and taking care of children of all ages (newborn to early teens). I have experience taking care of newborns and infants: I had the pleasure of working as a full-time care-giver at a daycare in the "under1-year-old" room for one summer during college. The University of Delaware requires very rigorous training and fieldwork in a variety of different types of child-care settings. During my coursework in college, I have had the pleasure of teaching and managing students in kindergarten, and including every grade up to sixth. I have taught classrooms of students receiving general and special education. I am comfortable taking care of several children, and enjoy helping out with light house-cleaning, such as dishes and laundry. I am also able to pick-up and drop off.

I have baby-sat and tutored children in many subjects for many years, and usually had babysitting jobs while taking classes at the University. I nannied during summer breaks, or worked at day cares. I enjoy working with children and families more than any other thing, because it makes me very happy :). I especially enjoy learning and teaching children about culture and science. I tend to teach children and infants constantly, because I love making up fun educational age-appropriate activities. I feel that it is very important to engage children in a variety of learning activities so that they can learn more about the world around them.

I am looking to start work immediately, and usually suggest an hourly rate of $9-$18, depending on the situation.
Related Hobbies and Interests
I am a very active person, as well as baby sitter! On my own time, I go to the library, visit museums, and take walks and bike-rides. When I babysit, I enjoy taking the children out to enjoy these activities as well.
