Before I had my own children, I was a professional nanny from 1999-2002, working for several nanny agencies in the Denver, CO area. I have cared for children of all ages, but most of my time as a nanny was spent caring for babies and toddlers. From 2003-2005, I also worked as a licensed Certified Nurse's Assistant (CNA,) first for a nursing home and then for a home health care agency. I was certified in CPR and first aid for those positions. I have also completed all the prerequisite university courses necessary to enter most nursing programs, so I've studied child development, nutrition, and other subjects which prove helpful in child care giving. I am currently looking for one child (or two, if they are from the same family,) to watch in my home during daytime hours. My youngest child's 5th birthday just misses the cutoff for entering kindergarten this year, so she's home with me for one more year. She's very excited about my decision to do daycare, and would love to have an infant or toddler around to love like a baby brother or sister. A 4 or 5-year-old child would also be a great fit in our home, as he/she would have my daughter for a playmate. Since I will only care for one family's child(ren), the constant sickness that is so rampant in daycare centers with multiple children will be nonexistent in my home, and I will be able to offer one-on-one loving care and attention to your child. As a mom, I feel that I will be an even better caregiver now than I was as a professional nanny in my younger years; having your own children opens your heart in a way you can't even imagine until you become a parent.
