My first job when I was 15 was at an after-school daycare program. It was at a private elementary-middle school. From 3:00 to 6:00 p.m., I would watch, with adult supervision, kids ages 6-12 years old, helping them with their homework and of going outside for break time.

All four years of high school, I worked in FCCLA, which stands for Future Child Care Leaders of America. My high school offered classes to teach you how to take care of a child and his/her needs. For two class periods a day (two and half hours), with adult supervision, I would watch children ages from 2-5. The job included writing lessons, coloring, snack time, lunch time, nap time, and outside activities, and of course, bathroom time.

I also very often baby-sit my 2-year-old nephew out in spring.
