I've been caring for children for 22 yrs. When I was 13 I began working in a family-owned daycare. I also raised my sister's 4 children. I've done it all: PTA, Little League, carpools. I'm currently a part time nanny for a child I met on Care. com and have been with for a yr. I've been employed in a fellowship nursery for 3yrs. I am the babysitter for a toddler with Cystic Fibrosis I met on a childcare site over a yr ago &now her infant sister. I was employed for over 2yrs with a home schooled child that recently moved away. I care for several other children on occasion, including 6yr old twins that I've been babysitting for years. I'm experienced with children on the Autism Spectrum and ADHD.
I have EXCEPTIONAL references from the families I have worked with, along with a long career of volunteer work in the Pickens Co School System. I've always maintained a spotless criminal and mv record.
I love reading to and with children and playing outside. I especially like taking children to the musical and story time programs at the library and visiting the park.
I can care for children in your home or mine. Most of the care giving for the CF child has been in my home. It's imperative that I thoroughly dust, disinfect and maintain an environment free of possible contaminates such as mold or other dangers to this child's lungs before she comes to my home. I live in the Duncan Chapel area near Furman and Cherrydale. Here is a description of my home if you are interested in your child being cared for here. It is child friendly and safe with no stairs, except for a few on a side porch. Electrical outlets will be covered while children are in the home along with all other safety precautions including no small items within reach. I have a large fenced in back yard perfect for taking children out to play. I also have a fun play area inside with lots of books, games, puzzles, toys and no pets. The only residents are me and my fiance. He works in Asheville and would likely not be present, but you would definitely be informed if he or anyone else, including other children were going to be here while your child is in my home. Even if my fiance wasn't expected to be present while I care for your child, you would still be more than welcome to run a background check and arrange a meeting. I take child safety and a parent's peace of mind very seriously and I understand your concerns. As I said before, I can provide care in your home if that is your preference. I have reliable transportation and get along great with dogs and cats.
