I moved to Chicago in the summer of 2010 after I graduated from Kalamazoo College. I am currently working in the Special Education department of a charter high school in Ukrainian Village and live in Wicker Park. I have been working with children and teens for almost 10 years. When I was in middle and high school I babysat for families in the neighborhood. During college I babysat for a family in Kalamazoo three days a week, a 5-year-old boy and and a 7-year-old girl. I studied abroad in London, England and babysat for a family of 3 boys, most afternoons. The boys were 7, 9 and 11; the oldest boy has Aspergers Syndrome and required some extra attention and patience. I love the energy that children and teens possess and am committed to making the development of youth a career. I am interested in education and psychology and hope to find a profession in social work or clinical psychology once I go back to school.
