I am a mother of 2 grown daughters, and a grandmother of 3 so I have first hand experience with my own family. I have 30+ years experience working in corporate environments as an executive assistant, but during my children's college years I worked through a babysitting agency in Southern California during the evenings/weekends for extra income. I preferred watching infants and toddlers and I developed relationships with regular clients that would continually request me. Later as a grandmother, I was the babysitter of choice, and I wouldn't have wanted it any other way. As a career person I wasn't available as much as I would've liked, but nights and weekends I devoted to the family. Now, with the current economy I find myself too young to be retired, but not as marketable as my younger counterparts so I'd like to babysit again if I could find a suitable position. Recently, for the school year 2010-2011, I babysat for 5 months for a sweet family whose children were in 5th and 8th grade. My job involved picking them up from school, fixing dinner and helping with homework and watching them until bedtime, 2 times a week. At that time I was living in Lake Havasu City, AZ at our vacation home. While in Arizona I interviewed for one nanny position for an infant, but had to let the parents know I had plans to move back to Southern California in the near future. Because our house was for sale it was hard to anticipate how long I would be available as their nanny. I am now permanently relocated to Huntington Beach as of the beginning of 2013.
