For the past 5 years, I've babysat for family, close friends, and a few childcare seekers from Care.com. For 6 years, I assisted in a preschool age Sunday school class, mentored other church youth ages 5-12 and have helped at a preschool and other elementary school kid events like sporting events and elementary school carnivals.
I am extremely responsible. My father is a police officer, so from him I developed a natural sense of being very protective. I am CPR and First Aid certified. I have my own vehicle, and I am willing to work in your home. I have limited cooking and baking abilities, and will often stick to simple foods such as cubed fruit, cereal, and Macaroni and Cheese. I have worked with kids in diapers, kids being potty-trained, and kids who are already potty-capable. I like keeping things clean, and I am a strong believer in teaching children to clean up their messes, but will often set the example depending on the child's age. For preschool-aged children, I love doing arts and crafts, playing games, and watching The Backyardigans (among more of your child's favorite TV shows). For the older kids who usually like a little more independence (ages 7+), I know how to relate, have fun, and be there for them as they need me.
I just love kids, and I am so blessed to have had so many opportunities to make an impression on children. I understand the importance of having a babysitter who is a good role model.
A little bit more about me: This Fall, I will be a freshman in Pre-Nursing. In high school, I was actively involved in ASB (student council) for all 4 years and recognized as an honor student. I also played high school soccer, was a cheerleader, ran track and wrestled. As a high school senior, I was recognized as a DAR Good Citizen, given a national honor for leadership, volunteerism, and patriotism. Since I was 12, I have been actively involved in volunteering at church, mentoring younger parish youth and serving on youth mission trips. I worked as a soccer referee on Fall weekends for 3 years. I used to volunteer in the emergency room at a hospital. I hope I am becoming a good role model that you will be glad to have caring for your child.
