I began baby-sitting for friends and neighbors at the age of 12. Helping to raise my three younger sisters, I realized that I loved working with children. I continued to care for children until I entered college at 18 and no longer had time to work outside of school. During undergraduate school, I taught as a continuing education instructor in art and following my graduate school training in fine art, I began teaching preschool through high school and college. My own two children, now ages 19 and 21, both have special needs, and I raised, trained, and advocated for them all their lives. I have substitute taught in schools and for nonprofits for many years. My passion is for working and caring for children, and children always love me because I show them love and respect as individuals. I am firm, but patient, clear with expectations, and give my full attention to them. I enjoy teaching and playing with them as well as caring for their needs. I feel that nurturing children is the most rewarding job!
