I am a 30 something, recently married actor who just thinks kids are the greatest. I have been looking after children in both paid and family situations for over 15 years, and have cared for children from 3 to 17 years old. In home situations I have played games with kids, from board games to sports to toys to pretend games (my acting background makes me especially well-suited for the latter!). I have cooked for and fed kids (I'll be honest, I'm no amazing chef, but have no reservations preparing most kid-friendly meals), and am enthusiastic about helping with homework, or simply talking to your child about what interests him or her. I have also taken kids to school or any appointments necessary. In addition to home childcare, I have helped run a drama program at a summer camp, dealing with up to 20 kids at a time, directing them, doing warmups with them, driving them to and from field trips, and generally making sure they were enjoying themselves and playing well with each other. In both cases, I am able to maintain discipline and structure for the children without being overly stern, and never get frustrated with them. Parents have often remarked at how well I am able to connect with children on their level, so they have fun and feel listened to, while also providing a strong adult presence, so they feel safe and maintain a healthy respect for adults.
