Christina Q.

August 31, 2012 To whom it may concern, It is without hesitation that I recommend Christina Q. for a nanny position for typical children or those with special needs. Christina came to us when our previous nanny picked up and left (short notice) to obtain a new position with non-special needs kids. My daughter is on the autism spectrum and has behavioral issues, sometimes severe. My son, however, has no special needs but has begun to mimic his sister s unruly behavior. I explained to Christina that this would be boot camp, as we worked together to troubleshoot the best techniques to finding a harmonious solution to some of these behaviors. I m proud to say, things are much better to this day due to Christina's fun loving, patient style and unique kiddie outing incentives. Christina arrived (completely non-intimidated) and ready to dive right in and face these new challenges. She often would ask for advice when she dropped me off at the MBTA station in the morning with the kids, to make sure we were on the same page with techniques to improve behavior and also to understand Cara s unique anxiety reactions to things such as sunlight and certain sounds that might set off certain behaviors. Although Christina would seek advice, she very rarely interrupted me at work and very much took the reigns and is an amazing problem solver and very mature a woman in her early 20s. Christina nannied for us throughout the summer months, and since she is a full-time student, her schedule would not permit her to continue in the fall for the extensive hours we needed her. Her early childhood major at Eastern Nazarene College (currently in progress) required her to take many courses in connection with autism and developmental delay, in addition to standard child development courses of typical children. That is why she was a very attractive fit for this short-term position, and why I am more than happy to speak of Christina's strengths. She, indeed, has a bright future and would be an excellent and trustworthy find if you are seeking a competent and fun nanny for your children.
