I cannot remember a time in my life when children were not involved. I grew up helping out with and babysitting kids in the family, my first paid babysitting experience being at age 13 with a 6-month-old little girl. I cannot remember a time in my life when children were not involved. I grew up helping out with and babysitting kids in the family, my first paid babysitting experience being at age 13 with a 6-month-old little girl. I currently babysit a cute little baby boy part-time. I have been with the family since October 2012 when he was 4 months old. It has been awesome watching him grow! From March 2012 - Sept. 2012, before moving to Orange County, I was a full-time nanny for 3 wonderful little girls aged 5, 3 and 1. From Nov. 2010 - March 2012, I worked at a group home caring for teenage girls who had been removed from abusive and neglectful homes. It was both rewarding and challenging! I also have recent experience watching my sister's now 6-year-old and 4-year-old boys. In 2010, I babysat for a family I found on Care.com while finishing up college. They had two wonderful girls, aged 2 and 3 at the time, and even took me with them on a family vacation. From 2008-2009, I lived in Northern California with my aunt for 1.5 years where my room and board was helping care for their children and their home. While living with her, their ages were: 2-3 years, 6-7 years and 10-11 years.
Currently, I am trying out a possible new career path, cake decorating! It has been a hobby of mine for a while and I finally decided to see if it can become more. I am planning to start up my own at home business. I have decided to supplement my income with my second passion, working with kids! I am hoping to find a family or two to sit for on a regular part-time or occasional basis that can be flexible with my current family.
In general, I have experience with diaper changing, bathing, feeding, playing, helping with homework, picking up from school, going to school activities, doing projects (fun and academic), taking kids to parks, etc., giving naps and other routine daily activities. I love children. Watching them grow and learn has always been fascinating to me. I do think that I am a "magnet" when it comes to kids. In fact, my family has, for as long as I can remember, called me "Suzie homemaker" and "little mommy." I love to be fun and goofy with kids, but I also like to make sure that I teach them life skills so that they can thrive! I have a BA in Sociology and took a child development class during my course of study as well. I think any parent would love to have me around!
