My response would be that I would respectfully disagree. As a christian who seeks Gods guidance in all areas of my life, I did not have peace about taking this position. What Natalie fails to mention in her review, is that she originally chose to hire someone else due to my need of working with a family who can be flexible working with days off (Fridays, sometimes a Monday) that happen once quarterly in the year. Also, my husband and I are also both from FL and also take a week out of the year to visit with our family back home. This information is always discussed up front with every family I have ever interviewed with because it is important that there are no surprises. I shared this information with her on the initial interview, which in turn, she ultimately chose the other candidate because it is hard in the situation she is in, to get back up care. When her chosen candidate did not take the position, Natalie was in a bind and called me to offer me the position. I gave it a day to talk and pray about it with my husband. He advised I take it since I need to find something. However, it just didn't feel right and that it very important to me to have peace about my decisions. Rather than get into a position because I was afraid to hurt feelings and to prevent a minor blip, only to later have to quit the position, after the kids, family and I grew to have a relationship and a bond, because of my original requirement of needing a family to be respectful and flexible of my schedule as I am of theirs. I did work for 2 hours the first day as a trial and that is when it was really heavy on my spirit that this was not the position for me. I was also given a contract to sign by Natalie, which I am happy to do with any family. In the contract, it noted that the family has 60 days to see if the nanny is a good fit and also if the nanny feels she is a good fit with the family and if she is not, then they will part ways or they can let her go. According to Natalie's contract, which I hadn't yet signed, I still was following what was requested. In response to Natalie's comment about me being a better fit for a part time position because of my commitment to my husband's company. It is my husband and I's company and like every family and wife, I am committed to God, my husband and our personal dreams and goals above any job. I would expect a family that I worked with to have the same values and not place their priorities of their children and family beneath their job.

Here is what actually took place. We had a suggested time to meet and I emailed 2 hours prior to the meeting, thanked her for the opportunity, but let her know I had accepted another job with another family and wished her the best of luck in her search. She responded with a rather rude email, suggesting I was unprofessional because I didn't call to let her know I would not be able to make it. I then responded back with another apology letting her know that I actually did in fact try to call, but due to low reception on my cell phone, the call wouldn't go through. So, my other option was to send an email and I figured an email would be the best way to contact at this point. I assumed she received emails thru her cell phone like many phones have the capability to do. I then apologized again for the inconvenience and wished her the best of luck with her search once more. I have the conversation saved as well for documentation and proof. :)
