Being the oldest of 4 and having over 50 first cousins, I began caring for children at the age of 10. From that point on, I knew I wanted to pursue a profession working with children. I continued to gain professional practice by working with children, from infancy to adolescence, at a group home.

Working with children in a group home for nearly three years has taught me lessons which can 't be learned, but must be experienced.

In hopes of healing many children from broken homes of violence and abuse, I have become more patient and empathetic. Leaving work each day, only reminded me how important love, support, and proper physical and cognitive development are to children and their future advancement.

I then graduated from the University of Arizona with a Bachelor's in Family Studies and Human Development, which focused on childhood development. I also completed a Child Life Internship at Diamond Children's at University Medical Center. Becoming a Child Life Specialist has given me more insight to helping children cope with different situations that occur in life.

My love and passion for children is an innate quality. Each child that I have worked with holds a special place in my heart and has shaped the person I am today.
