I am a full-time student going into my fourth year at Cal State San Marcos. I am studying for a BA in Communications with a certificate in American Sign Language Interpreting. I am very warm, fun, nurturing, caring, active, organized, punctual, detail oriented, and most importantly safe.

I have been babysitting for family friends since I was 13 years old. I have had two full-time childcare positions through Care. com.

The second job I got through Care. com was from September 2011 - current for a just turned 2-year-old boy and a 3-year-old girl. I have potty trained, bottle fed and weaned, changed diapers, taught them their shapes, letters, colors, and numbers. I try to engage them in other things besides the television, but when they do watch it I make sure it is in small increments and then make them go play outside for double that time.

April 2011 - September 2011 for 3 girls, 7, 9, and 12 years old Monday-Friday. We played in the pool, hiked, crafts, I took them to soccer practices, made sure their homework was completed, tutored if they needed help, and during the summer we worked out of workbooks for an hour a day to stay active in school.

One thing that makes me a good match for parents and children is my patience. Patience combined with my attention to detail and punctuality makes it comforting to families that I will always be there for the child with every need he / she may have, along with keeping the family routine and family rules. Parents can also be assured their child is being active with me. I really encourage playing outside, doing a craft, reading books (I believe even as young as 5 months a baby can truly interact with a book), or playing with toys, over watching the television. I think the most important thing about babysitting is keeping in mind that you are being trusted by parents to watch and care for their most prized possessions.

I have had to give up a few good jobs due to school and I am serious about the families I work for and I want a family who will treat me and my time with respect like I do for them.
