I am a 53 year old. Later in life, when I realized that childcare was something I wanted to pursue professionally, I began actively acquiring skills that would aid me. This led me to pursue an Associate Degree in Applied Science, choosing Teacher's Aid as my major. I also became first aid and CPR certified.
I presently do childcare for a 9-month-old child every other weekend. The child that is in my care I also used to take care of her mother and brother when they were young. I have known them for over 20 years. I also teach special need students in my church. I also teach 10-12 year old children at my church. I have being involved in my church for over 25 years. In the past I was a Girl Scout Leader for a special needs troop. I was a Leader with the Girl Scouts for the start of their scouting till they reach Senior Scouting. I also was a Den Mother for Boy Scouts for 6 years
I have babysat for all age groups over the year. When I take care of children I do not believe that the television should be the art of entertainment I would rather play and have children use their minds and play act and read books together. I love them to draw or build with blocks. I also believe in being moving around walking, playing games not videos games
