I would like to explain why I became a child care provider. When I was looking for someone to care for my children, I discovered that "babysitters" are not child care providers. They are not very reliable or trained so I decided to become the person I was looking for. I left my medical position with the company I worked for and opened my own family day care out of my home in 1998, and it still operates to this day. I have had the opportunity to work with various ages, I cannot say I like any age better then another they are all fun. I have also had an opportunity to work with children who have special needs, this includes medical, developmental, social-emotional behavior. I have two children of my own, they are now 24 and 22, both are girls. I love children and just being around them fills my heart with joy.
