I have years of both paid and volunteer experience with children of all ages (newborn-preteen). I have both part-time and full-time nanny experience. I volunteered at a medical center with sick children, worked with developmentally delayed children, and have babysat and nannied for over 10 years. I love children and I am excellent at finding age-appropriate activities to engage them. I have experience feeding children lunch and dinner and preparing light meals for them, putting children down for naps as well as experience with children who are not permitted to watch TV. I'd be happy to help guide the children in cleaning up after playtime and spills and providing homework assistance. I'm also open to light housekeeping as needed, such as putting everything in dishwasher, keeping play area tidy, etc.

I frequently babysat for families in my parents' neighborhood throughout high school. I also was an assistant preschool teacher for a year at church and assisted coaching the 6 and under swim team. I then went to Catholic University in DC and obtained my BA in Spanish Literature. Upon graduating, I went abroad to teach English to children and adults in Madrid for one year. When I came back, I worked as an admin. assistant. During this time, I began babysitting again for families on the weekends near where I was living. I decided that being an administrative assistant isn't what I wanted to do forever. I love working with children and so I left the position to obtain graduate coursework in psychology in order to eventually apply for Ph.D. programs in clinical child psychology. Thus, I have spent the past 3 years taking courses and obtaining clinical and research experiences in order to change careers. I worked as a research assistant with 5 different professors, including one to promote early childhood literacy.

I am seeking a nanny position before attending graduate school. I am very flexible on hours and days. I love doing arts and crafts with children and I am very creative! I also love the DC area and enjoy taking children to museums, the zoo, parks, etc. I have lots of experience with toddler and school age children. I am happy to provide references upon request.
